Relational therapy
Our close relationships hold the key to tremendous comfort and wellbeing. In times of conflict or disconnect, we suffer. My work is focused on helping my clients return to wellbeing through connection and feeling safe in their important relationships.Giving and receiving love, care and affection is difficult when we become trapped in patterns of hurt and separation. Through relational therapy, I'll work with you to see these patterns, where you are stuck and how to shift into more authentic, secure and positive interactions. All shapes of relationships are welcome and deserving of relational therapy - including spouses, romantic partners, families by birth or choice, and friends.Therapy with me is non-judgmental, respectful and experiential. I use evidence-based modalities, providing you with therapy that has been proven to be effective. In sessions, I aim to help you feel a sense of trust and security, not just talk about it. I welcome you to contact me to see if we are a good fit to do this important work together.
About me
Throughout my life I have sought ways to live gently, to nurture kindness and to ease suffering in the world. This pull brought me into the healing professions, where I worked for a decade as an occupational therapist. I specialized in Oncology and helped people diagnosed with cancer to do the things they cared about, to live meaningful lives, to navigate diagnosis, treatment, recovery and also end of life.Experience has shown me the healing value of therapeutic relationships- feeling deeply seen and heard is a medicine in itself. I imagined how much more my clients would benefit if they felt this, not just in my office, but within their own homes. The work I now do as a Couple and Family Therapist is directly in honour of this belief: connection is healing. We are capable of great growth when our roots are firm in mutual, caring and secure relationships.
